Happy Mother's Day to all the special moms that read my blog, but especially to my very extra special Mom!!!
Last night I stayed up after Allegiance went to bed and sewed. While sewing I thought about what a privilege it is to be a mother and how much God has blessed me with my two little girls. I also thought about when my Mom taught me to sew. I searched high and low, Mom, for that Christmas picture where I am in my pjs with my hands laced in front of my forehead, and you are sewing away on that little Singer machine that you and Dad got me for Christmas all those years ago. But I couldn't find it, so you will just have to imagine it here... :-)
And here are my efforts from last night. I didn't do much, just added a little frill to the bottom of some jeans I cut off that had gotten too short for Allegiance. BTW, for all your moms of little girls out there, Walmart sells ribbon just perfect for the bottom of jeans, etc. on a roll for about $1.50/yard. Cheap, easy, and FUN!!! The pillowcase dress is made from a pillowcase that was my Grandma Hillman's, so that is really special to me. Allegiance got up this morning and told me that it was, and I quote "the best gift EVER!"

Thanks Mom for all the things you have taught me to do, from sewing to listening, from cooking to laughing, and from following God to caring about others. You are an inspiration to me. I love you!!! Hope your Mother's Day is extra special!
