Chocolate Cake

We had chocolate cake last night for dessert. Allegiance and Daddy love chocolate on chocolate cake!!!

Daddy's Girl

Allegiance is talking more and more. I could fill this whole blog up with the cute things she says...today in the car, I was talking to Hannah and her friend Cole and said something about Rich. And Allegiance tells me, "No, Mommy, it's Daddy, not Rich." This is so cute because we have been telling her this because Hannah calls Rich "Rich" and Allegiance needs to call him "Daddy." She is just getting smarter everyday. I can't believe how much she is growing.

Here is the Daddy's girl with her Daddy. Do you think he loves her just a little bit???

Ron Mueck

My brother, Dustin, came to visit this past weekend and we had a blast. We went to Six Flags on Saturday. It rocked!!! I will try to post some pics of that later. He was brave enough to bring his camera, but I didn't get any pics off it before he left!

On Sunday, Dustin and I went to an exhibit at "The Modern" museum of art in Fort Worth. They have a traveling exhibit there right now by Ron Mueck. It was pretty awesome.

The following pics are from the exhibit. This one is a sculpture the artist created of himself. It is about 4 feet long and terribly life-like. Dustin and I agreed, it looked like it could wake up and start talking at any time!!!

This one is called "In Bed" for obvious reasons. You can tell how large it was by the people standing around it. Really cool. And in case you were wondering, because I was, the person is sculpted, but the blanket and pillow are not.

I liked this pic because it shows how life-like the sculptures are.

This was one of my favorites, though I think it really freaked Dustin out. It was simply called "A Girl." It is a huge sculpture of a baby girl that has just been born. She even still has the umbilical cord attached. As you can tell here, it is a large sculpture.

If you ever get a chance, I would recommend seeing this exhibit. Though the pics are cool on the internet, the sculptures are so much better to see in person.

Mom and Dad came down in July to bring Hannah back to us after she stayed a week with them. It was a short trip, but it was really good to see them. Here they are loving on their grandkids!!!

George and Allegiance

I just had to include this picture of Allegiance and Rich's good friend, George. George is the terrific friend who was in high school with Rich and let Rich stay with him last year for about 4 months while Rich found a job and then waited for us to join him. He and Rich don't get to get together all that often, but they always have a good time when they do.

Allegiance enjoyed getting the beers for the guys. It was too cute. She couldn't wait for them to finish one so she could get them another one. What a cutie!!!

July Playgroup

We have attended a playgroup this summer called "Friendship Falcons" for kids from my school. We have mostly been to the pool and such, but this trip was to a place called "Kid Muse." They had lots of fun stuff. Here is Hannah and her friend, Cole, climbing the wall. Hannah was a little behind, but hers went straight up and Cole's slanted. She could take him anyday!!!

Here the kids are in the play kitchen. Allegiance is whipping up a quick meal. She is becoming quite the little cook!

Here is Cole on a climbing structure that he conquered! Cole lives across the street from us and he and Hannah have become good friends this summer. He will be going into the 4th grade next year. We have been watching him some while his mom works this summer.

Our Anniversary

Well, a lot has happened since I last posted. I guess that happens when you wait a month...

Rich and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on July 7. It was a very special night for us. We went to eat at a restaurant called Texas De Brazil. It was an awesome and delicious place. The picture here is of the rocking salad bar. They had all types of cheeses, smoked salmon, breads, and lots of other exotic type of stuff. Then, for the main course, they had servers come around with skewers of all types and cuts of meat. Rich and I both agreed, the filet mignot was our favorite. What a great way to celebrate meeting the man of my dreams!!!

God has truly blessed Rich and I with one another. There is no other explanation for it. I never thought that marriage could be so good. I thank God every day for Rich and will continue to until the day I die. Next to Jesus, Rich is the best gift I have ever received!

These are the beautiful flowers that Rich had waiting for me at the table at Texas De Brazil. The picture doesn't do them justice. They were so beautiful...
