Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to you!
Happy Father's Day to you!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads!
Happy Father's Day to you!

Charley and Rich enjoying their peppermint foot soak!

Our home group from church meets on Sunday evenings, so the women of the group decided it would be fun to plan a special Father's Day for all the dads in our group. We had a yummy lasagna dinner first. Then we washed the dad's feet and gave foot massages. They loved it! We chose feet washing because it is really biblical and a great way to show love. The guys in our group are all terrific fathers and we really wanted to honor them on this special day.

Here I am washing Rich's feet.

Allegiance wanted to help on the massaging part!

And for an extra special treat, all four of us moms made a special dessert. We made each of our guys a plate with four different yummy desserts. Well...they had all just eaten a LARGE plate of lasgana, salad, and bread. Charley and Rich even had seconds. So, in hindsight, four desserts was probably not the best idea! But here is Charley celebrating his victory of eating all four desserts!!! It wasn't easy, but he did it! Rich came in at a very close second!

What a fun evening. I just hope our men know how much we love them and that we all know how lucky we are to have such Godly men leading our households.

Thank you God for giving us great husbands and great fathers to our children. Let them always feeled loved, honored, and blessed in our homes. And thank you for being the Father of us all, guiding and directing us. We love and praise you. Amen.

Summertime Fun!

The summer season has finally hit the Fort Worth area. As I have posted before, it has rained most of our summer break so far. And the weather, when it wasn't raining, was in the high 80s. Not really swimming weather. Well, today it hit! Highs in the 90s and lows in the 70s. I know, I know, I will be complaining about it by the end of summer, but it was so nice to go swimming today and to spend some time outside.

Hannah left for camp on Sunday and she won't be back until Friday. We miss her already! I am sure that she is having a fun time, but it sure is lonely without her here...

Here are a few pictures of Rich, Allegiance, and Liberty playing in the backyard this evening. Allegiance seems to be getting the hang of t-ball. Her favorite part was yelling "hey, batter, batter" at Rich when he was batting. Rich got a kick out of it too!

Her least favorite part was when we tried to coach her. Little Miss Independent!!!

Here she is hitting her first HOME RUN!!!

And no outdoor summer post woud be complete without a picture of Liberty posing...

Please read the following paragraphs and visit this site. Listen to FDR and join with him in his prayer. It is still very relevant for today and our troops in Iraq.

"This is the prayer originally entitled "Let Our Hearts Be Stout" written by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as Allied troops were invading German-occupied Europe during World War II. The prayer was read to the nation on radio on the evening of D-Day, June 6, 1944, while American, British and Canadian troops were fighting to establish beach heads on the coast of Normandy in France.
The previous night, June 5, the President had also been on the radio to announce that Allied troops had entered Rome. The spectacular news that Rome had been liberated was quickly surpassed by news of the gigantic D-Day invasion which began at 6:30 a.m. on June 6. By midnight about 57,000 American and 75,000 British and Canadian soldiers had gotten ashore. Allied losses on D-Day included 2,500 killed and 8,500 wounded. "

Poor Hannah

Poor Hannah has yet another ailment. Somehow her mosquito bites that she had a few weeks ago have gotten BADLY infected and now she has a staph infection. Poor girl!!! She had to have one bump removed from her back last Tuesday. It was pretty traumatizing. I am glad we didn't take Allegiance with us for that appointment! Other than that, Hannah is on antibiotic to treat the infection. Her poor legs look pretty bad. They are full of bites that have swollen to outrageous sizes. But the medicine does seem to be helping. Now we are just praying to have her over this before camp which starts on June 11. Luckily, Hannah is such a trooper. She just rolls with the punches and takes whatever life dishes out! I love that girl!!!

My Little Helper

Well, we have officially had one week off now...It has been nice, but it has rained here most of that time, so we have been stuck at home. No swimming, no Six Flags, no parks. I have been keeping myself busy cleaning. I have cleaned out closets, steam cleaned the carpets, and just general deep cleaning that I NEVER get to during the school year. Luckily I have had my little sidekick to help me out through it all. Here is Allegiance being my little "cook" helper. She does like to have jobs around the house. She is a pretty good little cleaner! :-) I keep her busy!!!

Here is my little cook heading to the pantry in her Nascar shirt that Daddy bought her. We are Jimmie Johnson fans around here. Don't mention Tony Stewart in this house!

Such a sweetie!!!
